Solar Tax Rebate Forgets Solar Hot Air Heating

We just received from one of our manufacturers information that the draft solar tax rebate has forgotten solar hot air heating. As we get more information, we will post it, but in the meantime, you may want to write to your representatives to let them know about this oversight. Here is a draft letter circulating:

Dear Congressperson,

We are contracting you in reference to solar air heating and requesting that the federal solar tax rebate be expanded to include SRCC certified solar hot air heating to the federal listing of eligible tax incentives. Our new President has stated that he wants to invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy yet one of the most cost-effective and efficient solar systems that can achieve his goal has been overlooked. At present, solar hot air heating is an affordable, reliable and an efficient solution to the country’s dependence on foreign fuel. Today, solar hot air technology is even more efficient than panels that have been constructed in the past. Now, solar panels are constructed from superior materials and are more efficient, easier to install and are maintenance-free. Solar hot air heating makes sense. Because of its efficiency, it has one of the fastest paybacks, comparable to solar hot water heating systems. Presently, only solar-electric systems, solar water heaters, wind turbines, geothermal heat pumps and fuel cells are included in the federal residential tax rebate program. The government needs to add an SRCC (SOLAR RATING & CERTIFICATION CORPORATION) certified solar hot air heating including SRCC certified panels to the Federal Incentives. One of the installation requirements could include: SRCC certified solar hot air heating panel or system to qualify for the 30% Federal Tax Credit. It is vitally important to those who live in the United States of America, that you seriously consider this request. Solar Hot Air Systems make perfect sense and are the sensible solution for homeowners and businesses to reduce their fuel consumption and address global warming. While many countries have actively endorsed and promoted solar air products and systems for many years, the United States lags behind. This is YOUR chance to make the difference! With the incentive of tax rebates, homeowners and businesses will be encouraged to seek this viable heating alternative. Hundreds of jobs will be created as the solar industry is encouraged to grow.
