Description
A connection to the AES batteries can be made with the Discover LYNK monitor and gateway. The LYNK has a battery state of charge meter on its face for quick reference when used as a lead replacement battery. This will be much more accurate than the battery monitors supplied with most inverters. LYNK enables closed loop communications providing adaptive, real time interaction between the Discover AES LiFePO4 battery and connected inverter system. Remote reporting of battery status is available through the inverter monitoring and web services.
Edge Cards (daughter boards) can be added to the LYNK to enable communications to specific inverter brands. A selection of cards will become available to match popular inverter brands. Two Edge Cards can be used at one time for various inverters and charge controllers in one system. .The SMA card is used to interface the AES battery bank with an SMA Sunny Island inverter system. The VICTRON card is used to interface the AES battery bank with Victron inverter and charger systems. The SLRK card is used to interface the AES battery bank with Sol-Ark inverter and charger systems. The 42-48-6650 and 44-24-2800batteries will communicate directly to Xanbus devices from Schneider XW and SW inverters and charge controls. The 44-48-3000 needs the LYNK and Xanbus card to communicate with Schneider equipment.
DiscoverLYNK II
The updated Discover LYNK II is a monitoring and communication gateway for AES and Helios batteries. The LYNK II has a battery state of charge meter on its face for quick reference. This will be much more accurate than the battery monitors supplied with most inverters. The LYNK II enables closed loop communications with many inverters and charge controllers providing adaptive real time interaction between the Discover batteries and the connected inverter system. The LYNK II CAN communication can be configured for many inverters and charge controllers including Schneider XW, Sol-Ark, Victron and various other inverters. Remote reporting of battery status is available through the inverter monitoring and web services.
Connection to the AES batteries is via the RJ45 AE bus port, while connection to the Helios batteries is via the LYNK port and cable system with IP65 rated water resistant cabling and connectors. The LYNK II itself is rated for IP20 indoor only. The LYNK port cable system uses one T connector per Helios battery, 15" cables between batteries and one of the longer cables for shelf to shelf or between the battery bank and LYNK II. There is also a series of terminals for CAN communication, power, and three relays to supply control signals such as generator start, and a slot for a micro SD memory chip. Ethernet connection is afuture function. Configuration is done using LYNK ACCESS software with a USB connection to a computer with 64-bit Windows 10 operating system.
Real Time State of Charge
AES Battery State of Charge (SoC) is displayed in real time by multiple brands of off-grid inverters. LED segments on LYNK device provide additional at a glance reference.
Remotely Monitor State of Charge
Remotely monitor the aggregate SoC for a string of AES batteries and data log sites using the data monitoring services offered by multiple brands of off-grid inverters.
Full Compatibility
AES Battery charge settings are automatically sent and programed to multiple brands of off-grid inverter chargers and solar charge controllers.
Faster Charging
Up to 25% faster charging with dynamic SoC communication between AES Battery and power conversion system.*
Mix and Match Systems
Two slots for plug and play Edge Cards allows for two brands of power conversion electronics to be integrated with AES LiFePO4 Battery in the same power system.
Maximize the Battery
Internal cell balancing is optimized enabling the highest usable capacity and true 100% depth of discharge over the entire life of the battery.
