The Mars is a complete off-grid solar kit which contains four 200W solar panels (800W total), plus an EcoFlow portable power station with 2 kWh battery storage and 2400 watts of AC output. This portable, plug-and-play solar kit is robust enough to handle moderate appliance usage during a weekend stay off the grid. The 800 watts of solar is twice the capacity of our Venus kit, offering a faster 4-hour charge window in optimal sun conditions.

This kit can power moderate usage of various energy-efficient appliances over the course of a weekend off the grid. Sample usage includes LED lights, a WiFi router, a 12V fridge, a phone and laptop charged to full, a few movies on the TV, and usage of a fan and coffee maker as needed. The 2 kWh battery provides enough capacity to cover reasonable consumption for a weekend, while the 800 watts of solar can quickly recharge the full battery capacity over the course of a sunny afternoon.

The EcoFlow Delta 2 Max features 2,048 watt-hours of battery storage capacity. This is enough to handle moderate usage of common household appliances like a small fridge, TV, LED lights, and phone/laptop charging over the course of a weekend. Prolonged use of devices with higher power draw, like a TV or laptop, will push this device to its capacity.

With 800 watts of solar, this kit is equipped to fully recharge the 2 kWh EcoFlow battery in approximately 4 hours under ideal sunny conditions. This assumes exposure to “peak sunlight” with the sun directly overhead and nothing blocking the panels. During cloudy weather, the extra solar capacity of this kit (double our 400W Venus kit) will recharge the power station much more efficiently, even if conditions are less-than-ideal.

The Delta 2 Max power station features 15 available ports to plug your devices into. There are 6 standard AC outlets, 6 USB ports (2 USB-C, 2 USB-A fast charge, and 2 USB-A), 2 12V DC inputs, and 1 car charger input.

The Delta 2 Max itself has inputs to recharge from any of four sources: solar (included with this kit), AC, DC, or car charger.

Battery health and performance depends on how it is used, and how often and fully it is charged and discharged. The power station battery comes with a 10 year lifespan warranty and 5 year service guarantee. It can be stored for up to a year at a full state-of-charge with no issue. With routine usage and proper care, the battery may last 10+ years, while the panels are warrantied for 25+ years of use.

The Delta unit has a display screen that shows the battery level, solar panel output, and inverter status. Additionally, the system can be monitored remotely through a mobile app.

The system requires minimal maintenance. The solar panels should be kept clean and free of debris to maximize their efficiency. The portable power station should be kept in a cool, dry place to prevent overheating.

This kit is expandable up to 1000 watts, so it has room to fit one more 200-watt solar panel if appropriate. On the storage side, the EcoFlow Delta 2 Max battery capacity is expandable with this 2 kWh extra battery, which doubles battery storage up to 4 kWh (though the expansion batteries do not allow for more solar input).
